Store size varies enormously, from a small corner grocery with a few aisles to a full supermarket chain location in Pittsburgh with a bakery, seafood counter and food court under one roof. Sales and promotions are often posted in-store or in a weekly flyer rather than online, so prices listed on a website may be out of date. Seafood markets sell live and on-ice product and can usually clean or prepare fish on request for a small fee. Specialty food stores in Pennsylvania may focus narrowly on one category, like a butcher, a rice and dry goods shop, or an import store, so calling ahead to confirm stock for a specific item saves a wasted trip.

Hours have not been published for this listing yet. Most businesses of this type in Pittsburgh keep standard business hours, but call ahead to be sure, especially on weekends and holidays. The listed phone number is (412) 261-4943. Many businesses also reply to text messages on the same number if it is a cell phone.

On Google it holds a rating of 4.9 out of 5 from 76 reviews, which is a strong result for an asian grocery store in Pittsburgh and suggests consistent service.

Pittsburgh is in Pennsylvania, in the Northeast, where four distinct seasons shape local life: hot humid summers, snowy winters that can close businesses for a day, and a dense pattern of towns where walking, transit and street parking all matter. Getting around Pittsburgh is easiest by car; street parking is metered in busy downtown areas, and most suburban businesses have their own lot. Ride-share apps such as Uber and Lyft operate across Pennsylvania's larger cities, and public transit varies from extensive to minimal.

Old School Deli. Breakfast sandwiches are awesome. Had a sausage, egg and pepper jack cheese sandwich. Can't wait to try some of the others.

I have been working downtown on the new construction of the rapid Transit loop and my coworker put me onto Merante deli. This is a and nice quaint mom and pop Italian deli that serves fresh breakfast sandwiches and hot lunch entrees all made from scratch in house. The kid that man's this store is a beast and really puts in the attention to detail which is much appreciated. Nowadays especially. Check the guy out and I promise there's nothing that I have ordered there that was not top quality. Thanks Brothers for your excellent commitment to serving the Pittsburgh community. #supportlocal

Merante Brothers Italian American Market, tucked away on Marion Avenue in Uptown, is an absolute gem. This charming little spot is part deli, part market, part sandwich shopβ€”and total perfection. They carry Italian specialty goods, fresh produce, hot and prepared meals, and a deli case full of deliciousness. Whether you're grabbing a jar of house-made sauce, some sliced salami, or a meatball hoagie, you're in for something special. The staff is incredibly warm and welcoming, and they know how to craft a seriously good sandwich. I stopped by on a Wednesdayβ€”which is when they get a delivery of fresh focaccia breadβ€”and tried the sandwich of the day: steak, peppers, onions, and melty cheese on onion focaccia. It was unrealβ€”I couldn’t put it down. Don’t skip the homemade desserts either. The magic bars (a rich blend of chocolate, coconut, and pure joy) are worth the trip alone. They're open Monday through Friday from 6 a.m. to 3 p.m., and Saturdays from 6 a.m. to noon. Bonus: their breakfast sandwiches are massive and seriously tasty. I already can't wait to go back!
